What a photobooth costs in Luxembourg (and why the cheapest quote rarely is)

Nobody in this industry publishes their prices, and everybody complains about it.

We do. Our rates and current offers are online in our quote builder: choose the date, duration and options, and the price appears straight away. See our prices

But a price on its own says little. We're not the cheapest, and we're not trying to be — which doesn't mean we aren't the best investment. That's why we'd rather talk it through: to understand why the option that isn't the cheapest can be the one that delivers the most, and the one your guests remember.

Here's what drives the price of a photobooth, ours and everyone else's. Because the real difficulty isn't finding a price. It's comparing two quotes that aren't selling the same thing.

The six things that drive the cost

Someone on site. The biggest gap, by far. A booth dropped off in the morning and collected the next day doesn't cost what a service with someone present all evening costs. That isn't a comfort upgrade: it's the difference between 40 photos and 300 — and between a fault at 22:30 fixed in two minutes, or not at all.

Consumables. Every print has a real cost — paper and dye-sublimation ribbon. A supplier offering "unlimited prints" has priced that risk in. One charging per print hasn't, and you carry the variable.

Travel. Delivery, setup, takedown, return. Distances are short in Luxembourg, but a clean setup takes time, and a night collection after an evening ending at 02:00 isn't free.

Software licensing. Digital sharing, AI background replacement, event analytics: all of it runs on professional software billed by subscription, sometimes by credits per image. Invisible to the client, very real to the supplier.

Connectivity. Real-time sharing requires a mobile connection on board, paid monthly, per booth. Without it, photos go out when the booth gets back — which is a different product.

Insurance and the legal framework. Professional liability, GDPR compliance, a data processing agreement. Invisible until it's missing.

What a headline price hides

The lowest entry price on the market is currently around €179 for a weekend. That's a real price for a real product: a self-service booth, delivered by courier.

It just isn't the final price. Add delivery both ways, then prints, which are almost never included. On a normal corporate evening the total approaches a full service — without the service.

The rule: compare what's included, not what's advertised.

The question that sorts quotes into the right order

One is enough:

"What isn't included?"

Ask in writing. The answers tell you everything, and they compare far better than numbers.

Check line by line: delivery and collection · setup and takedown · someone present during the event · print count or unlimited · digital sharing and when · layout personalisation · props · travel costs · overtime if the evening runs long · insurance.

Two things that lower the bill

Thursday costs less than Saturday, with everyone, for everything — venue, caterer, entertainment. If your company culture allows it, it's the simplest lever there is.

Book early. Not because prices rise, but because choice shrinks. In December, what's still free in November isn't what you'd have picked in September.

And VAT: a detail that can change everything

We don't charge VAT. As a small business we fall under the franchise scheme: the price shown is the price you pay, with no VAT added.

For a business that recovers VAT in full, that changes nothing: it compares amounts before tax anyway.

But for everyone who can't recover it — private individuals, associations, many public bodies, and much of Luxembourg's financial sector, whose activities are largely VAT-exempt — the difference is real. At the same headline price, a supplier who adds VAT costs you noticeably more.

So compare the amount you actually pay, VAT included — not just the price before tax.

We're not accountants — check with yours what you can recover.

In short

There's a good photobooth at every price level. The bad purchase isn't the cheapest one: it's the one whose actual scope you discover on the evening of the event.

You'll find the price online. To understand what it includes — and why it's worth what it costs — let's talk.
