"Digital sharing included" — yes, but when exactly?

Almost every photobooth quote mentions digital sharing. Few specify the thing that matters: when.

The cheap booth does share your photos. Later.

A self-service booth delivered by courier usually has no internet connection. That isn't a design flaw, it's a consequence of the price: a professional mobile connection costs money every month, per device.

So the booth stores everything locally, and the photos go out when it gets back — often on Monday, when it reconnects to the warehouse Wi-Fi.

Your guests therefore receive their photo a day or two after the event. Sometimes longer.

At that price, that's fair enough. But it isn't what "instant sharing" implies, and the gap matters: a photo that arrives on Monday doesn't get shared. The moment has passed.

What's inside our booths

Every one of our booths carries a 5G router — not 4G. It costs more every month, per booth. Here's why we pay for it.

AI background replacement runs in the cloud. Every image consumes credits on our side and takes two to four seconds to process. In exchange the result is flawless: no hard edges, no glow around hair.

Local cut-out solutions exist, running with no internet and no per-image cost. We've tested them. For professional work the result simply isn't usable — you can see it immediately on a print.

And sharing happens during the evening. Email, SMS, QR code, live slideshow on a screen or projector. Your guest poses, and thirty seconds later the photo is on their phone. Or on the wall.

Why the delay changes everything

A photo that arrives during the evening gets shown to the person next to you, sent to a partner, posted straight away. It travels.

The same photo on Tuesday lands in a full inbox with no context. It gets opened, maybe saved, and that's it.

That's the difference between entertainment that leaves the room and entertainment that stops there.

The question that settles it

When a supplier advertises digital sharing, one question is enough:

"Do my guests get their photo during the evening, or afterwards?"

The answer tells you whether there's a connection on board.
